Today's first Moments layout brought to you by Lisa Dickinson:
This week we're focusing on documenting moments that revolve around our monthly theme - FAMILY! I've selected some photos of my kids just before their first ski run this winter. We were all so excited to get back to the slopes and have fun in the snow together.
Since my photos were obviously winter-themed, I knew this month's moodboard would be a great jumping off point. I started with a light wood background and pulled papers in various blues and pinks to tie in with my kids' ski outfits. The image of floating stars on the moodboard inspired me to cut lots of this shape from my patterned papers, as well as some plain vellum, and layer these like snowflakes falling down the right side of my layout. I added machine stitching to further create a feeling of falling snow and introduced some sparkle with blue, red, and white sequins.
Thanks for taking a peek at my page! Please let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to answer in the comments section!
Today's second Moments layout brought to you by Jen Kinkade:
I do a lot of “moment” scrapbooking. I love capturing and documenting unexpected moments as well as intentional moments.
There is so much wrapped up in my heart for this page.
It may seem like an ordinary winter page, but it's much more than that for me. This page signifies my middle daughter's blossoming love for photography–she captured this image of her younger sister; the blowing snow action is awesome; I see the lush lashes of my youngest daughter; my black and white edit of the image. This is all magical to me, my heart. I love these moments, the memories, the photo.
I used a dark grey cardstock as my background, then partially covered it with gesso. While the gesso was wet I sprinkled silver and gold embossing powders in it. Then I just began layering with star acetate by Studio Calico, tulle, and Silhouette branch and berry cuts from the Silhouette store colored with watercolors. I finished the page with a metal exclusive “Believe in magic” flair button by Two Peas.
I've also included some hidden journaling to my girls to explain how thankful I am for them and this moment.
Thanks for looking! :)
