Good morning!! My 2012 : Captured class for November went up on the 15th, and this month, it's all about the fun Project Life friendly lines that have been popping up.
I love using premade journaling cards, but they're not always a perfect fit for what i want to use them for. Here are a couple of quick ways to alter those cards to make them work for you!
(supplies : patterned paper : journaling cards - Elle's Studio (pink), Technique Tuesday/Ali Edwards (gray); Dear Lizzy (aqua), Studio Calico (gray); stamps - Amy Tangerine (date + icons); vellum arrow - Twine and Ink; heart stickers - Studio Calico; washi - KI Memories)
MAKEOVER #1 :
The title on this card is a perfect fit with my photo, but if I place the photo at the bottom of the card so it doesn't cover the tab with words, the card looks cramped and I don't have much room for journaling or other accents.
Using an xacto knife, I carefully cut around the edge of the tab and slipped my photo under it. As an added bonus, I love that this adds a little dimension, as well as the look of an added layer. I then finished the card with some patterned paper and a heart stickers.
MAKEOVER #2 : I love the colors and design of this card, but the words didn't fit the photos I wanted to use with it.
I added a punched circle, an arrow, a little washi tape and a stamped car and house, and now this card is a perfect match for my photos.
I hope this inspires you to look at your journaling cards in a new way! -Lisa

@viji - i'm not sure - i print them on 4x6 paper and trim them out, so i just eyeball it.
