I am so happy to be able to spotlight another awesome Pea today! Her name is Shellye McDaniel and she is a talented triple threat, making wonderful pages, cards, and mini albums! I sometimes think embellishing is a bit of an art in itself, knowing when to stop, or add just one more button, etc. I think Shellye is great at that and her projects are just so visually pleasing and put together. Lets have a look at some things from her gallery shall we? :)
This Gratitude card is amazing, and I just love how she made a bow from burlap and tied it with a rustic twine. The row of buttons tied with the same twine at the bottom is a great tie in. I also just love how she did a blanket stitch around the orange patterned paper, it really makes it pop and is another wonderful detail on this card.
Another card where she paired who different items for the bow on top of the card and I think it just works so well. But my favorite part is the heart on the card. If you look close you can see it's full of dimension as there are real buttons placed over an image of buttons. So cute and clever!
How sweet is this mini album? She mixed different patterned papers so well, and I am a sucker for good machine stitching! The corrugated heart is such a fabulous addition to the mini album perfectly grounding the title work and image.
So many details on this layout to love. The tilted photo, the mixed title work, and of course the fun machine stitching. I sometimes struggle with patterned paper that has selective designs like the background paper she used, and I think this is a great example of how to make them work, and not just cut them apart.
I hope you enjoyed looking at a few of Shellye's projects with me, you really should go check out the rest of her awesome gallery. :) - Laura
