Weekly Scrap Challenge: Color Combo with Jen Gallacher
From Jen, "I am loving the earthy tones I am seeing everywhere. This was very much inspired by the colors scheme in Lisa Truesdell's "Memory Keeping Monday" project HERE.
I used the negative leftover scrap of a die cut shape I cut with my Silhouette machine. Sometimes I'll keep scraps of other projects on my desk because they inspire me to do something new.
Challenge: Use these colors to create your own layout."
Photography Challenge: Collections with Jill Sprott
From Jill, "We in the scrapbooking world often joke about our hoarding habits, but collecting is a whole different story. It involves sifting through the chaos and seeking patterns within it. It's about locating, organizing, displaying/storing, and holding dear that which makes our heads and hearts happy. We all collect something, I'm sure. Since I was a kid, I've collected stamps, though not in any systematic way. A hard-core philatelist I am not. I'm drawn to their pretty colors and designs, to their histories and their meanings. Whenever I see a stamp on an envelope, I tear it off and save it in a collection that I've amassed through the years.
THE CHALLENGE: Photograph a collection, whatever it may be -- stamps, books, cookie cutters, watches, wooden spoons, sunglasses, troll dolls, vinyl records, old Tiger Beatposters...oh, the possibilities!" ...continued
Saturday Card Sketch with Kimber 5.5.2012
From Kimber, "This card all started with the Pink Paislee pattern paper. I thought the papers were soft enough for a baby card without using soft pastels. I then mixed a little bit of Lily Bee pattern paper, Pebbles stamp and American Crafts button along with some Jillibean baker's twine.
I stamped the whale image on the ledger pattern paper and then again on the blue/grey dot paper. I cut out the stamped blue/grey whale and pop dotted it on the ledger paper. This added a lot of dimension."
Congrats to kushi, daisyemm & alaughton; we'll be in touch with you shortly on how to access your gift certificate! And thanks to everyone who played along!
